Hi there,
I’m Monica Crowe, an Austin-based copywriter with a penchant for online marketing, the arts and personal development.
When I was 8 my mother gave me a journal. She said, “Monica, I want you to write in this every day.” I accepted her challenge with enthusiasm, and that’s when my love of writing began.
Journalism, editing and award winning …
Reporting & Editing – By the age of 26 I had received an Associated Press award for reporting, as well as was the managing editor of a glossy lifestyles magazine.
During my reporting career I interviewed noteworthy touring bands, musicians, artists, authors, dancers and actors from all over the world. I have also interviewed politicians and a couple of TV personalities. Many of these people had amazing stories, and some of them still inspire me today.
If you couldn’t place her face, the lady in the photo with me (above) is Greta Van Susteren of Fox’s “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.”

Copywriting — I’ve written marketing copy since 2008. My initiation into persuasive writing began with writing a weekly newspaper column and editorial. I also wrote advertorial copy for dozens of business owners every year. I got a lot of phone calls from those business owners, and one after the next had the same thing to say.
“We had a surge of people coming into our offices/store today, and they said it was because they read your article.”
Suddenly, people I had interviewed while on the job were telling their friends about me, and the next thing I knew I was a freelance copywriter.
Web writing — I have written dozens of articles for the high profile website Livestrong.com. Never heard of it? It’s Lance Armstrong’s website. Remember those yellow wrist bands that said Livestrong? That’s the one I’m referring to
Additionally, I’ve penned several eHow.com articles, and numerous articles for various websites on the topic of online marketing for business. You can read the many articles I’ve written on these topics at my blog.

Fun fact
I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil, and I’m not too shabby at it. In fact, I like to call myself a fine artist. Curious? You can view some of my work, as well as my art blog here.
